A Town for all Seasons

A peaceful calm falls over Looe after the summer months, bringing with it majestic scenes that only shorter days and crisp mornings can muster. Looe wears many faces, but autumn Looe is my absolute favourite manifestation. Now dusk comes early, unveiling extravagant sunsets in wintery skies and the old, low beamed pubs call you to warm yourself next to crackling fires with Cornish brewed ale.

Not being partial to an early rise, the shorter days mean it's more likely I catch the dawn and, oh my, what a scene we woke to yesterday with the mist rising from the harbour, the fishing boats stirring it up in spirals as they chugged their way out to sea, their 'put put put' the only sound carrying through the mist in an eerily quite town. In my eyes, a cold autumn day in Looe is as close to perfection as it gets.
